Washing machine erro code
Have Sears Elite Oasis top load washing machine giving an error code of F1. It seems the internet is full of stories about this machine and others about getting them fixed and then having the same thing happen again. we paid good money for this machine and until the error code it worked fine. Now its a nightmare. Found information about a recall for these machines because of this problem. But of coarse our machine is not included. My parents always bought Sears, and I have always bought Sears but am thinking now that this was a mistake. I understand that you did not make this machine and that other brands are having the same problem. My question is why are not all of the machines doing the same exact thing not part of the recall. My model #110.27086604, serial #cu2870306 and when I spoke to the U.S. Product safety Commision they told me that the 600, 601, 602, and 603 were part of the recall but ours was not even though it acts just like all the other machines. Please help me understand how this is good customer service. Thank You, mark McKinney

hello mr. mckinney. i understand your concern about that f1 failure in your kenmore oasis washer model 110.27086604.
here is an explanation for the reason that your washer was not included in that recall:
the last digit in that model number is a revision designation. the washers with that model number up to revision 3 (603) were included in that recall. the revision 4 with your serial number has the updated control board that was used in that recall. in this situation, i suspect that your control board experienced a component failure that is not necessarily directly related to that recall.
although we can assist you with technical advice regarding the repair of that failure, we are not in the best position to address your customer service concerns. i recommend that you call the sears national customer relations office at 1-800-549-4505 regarding that issue.
if you want to fix that problem yourself, you can reply to this thread and we will assist you further. the machine control board will often need to be replaced to fix that problem. a problem with the air hose between the bottom of the tub and the water level sensor on that control board in the console can also cause the f1 code.

hello mark. that f1 code indicates that the control (which houses the water level pressure transducer -- water level sensor) detects a problem with water level detection. that is why it shuts down and displays the f1 error code. there is a possibility that you have a problem with the air hose between the bottom of the washer tub and the connection of that air hose on the machine control board in the console. i posted some images below that show those components and how to access them. you can unplug the washer and check that air pressure hose for problems. with the tub empty, you can disconnect the air hose at the bottom of the tub and check for a clog or problem with the air path in that area. if you find no problems with the air hose, then the machine control board (part w10189966). you can order that control board from this page: electronic machine control board part w10189966 for kenmore oasis washer model 110.27086604 . i hope that this information helps. if you need further assistance, let us know.
