Kenmore Elite upright Freezer Error Code CE - Broken Wire

I have a Kenmore Elite Upright Freezer model # 253.24092101. I was receiving the CE error message and posted a question earlier and was told to check the connections of the wiring harness that goes from the upper control panel to the lower electronics. Connections were fine so I tested each of the 4 wires with my meter and determined that there is apparently a break in the yellow wire. I checked the wiring harness on the parts that are visible and do not see any break. I contacted sears to inquire about purchasing a new wiring harness and they do not show it on the parts list and cannot seem to tell me if it is included with the door if you purchase a new door. I would prefer not to go this route since it appears to be well over $100. I am ok with building a new wiring harness but does anyone know if the insulation in the door is able to be removed or is it glued into the door? The sides of the metal door lip over the insulation and I do not want to start tearing the door up trying to access the wiring if the insulation is in fact glued in there. By all the post that i have seen this seems to be a major issue with this model. Any help would be appreciated.

the freezer is definitely something we depend on and when it begins to malfunction it can be a huge inconvenience. while you are waiting for an expert to respond, i have attached some helpful links below that may provide information to assist you with your question.

i'm sorry to hear that you are still having problems with the freezer. i was able to located a diagram of the door. you can see from the image below that the door is held together with a series of screws (#93). just remove all of the screws and the door will come apart easily. however, while you have the door apart you will need to soak the gasket in warm water. this is so it will lay flat when you put it back together.

if you need further assistance, please reply to this thread.
