I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties your having with your Kenmore Elite Commercial Grinder Coffee Maker. Thank you for your question on the coffee maker not brewing coffee.
If you are following the instructions in the manual for brewing coffee and the brewer will not work I would suggest that you return the coffee maker for an over the counter exchange.
It carries a 5 yr. warranty.
This appliance in non-repairable and if it fails to operate as per the instructions in the manual it is a warranty replacement product.

I called the local Sears location and they said that they would not honor an over the counter return or exchange (I don't have my receipt). Is there anything that you could do to help advise me? I love my Kenmore Elite Commercial Grinder and Coffe Brewer but it is not brewing just grinding. I have tried to troubleshoot it as described on this and other site but have been unable to get it to work. Any help would be appreciated.

My unit would not work just like many others posting on this and other boards. I removed the bottom cover and looked at the heater plate and electronics (Electrical Engineering experience). What appears to be happening with these units is a fault in the thermostat device clipped to the heating element. Coffee brings get attached to the grease used on the thermometer and it caused a faulty reading. The unit starts to heat...the doff bring(s) heat up rapidly...a signal sends back to the control board to turn off. That's the reason no heat is being generated and thus no water percolating out. I cleaned the coffee debris off of the unit...snapped it back in place...and it was fix and in working order. I see a lot of complaints about this model not working after a period of time and wonder if the OEM can make a better thermo shield to keep coffee grinds off of the sensitive parts. With all of this said, taking a part a machine obviously voids your warranty and is not for people who do not know what they are doing.
