thank you for your question. i can understand your concern about this frosting condition. this frosting indicates a problem with the defrost system. a good check that may help determine the problem, will be to, manually place this unit into a defrost cycle. to enter manual defrost, the control must be set to ā€œ2ā€ and then both buttons must be held down for a couple of seconds. a ā€œdā€ is displayed while in manual defrost. after a few minutes, if you can hear a hissing or popping sound inside the freezer, it means the heating element is on. this would indicate the control board # 297282800 is not advancing into defrost and will need to be replaced. upon completion of the defrost cycle, the setting will return to setting # 2 and you must change the control back to the original setting. if the heating element does not come on, some voltage and resistance checks will need to be made. a technician may be needed to make these checks. i hope this will help you. if you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and i will be glad to assist you further.

if you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a sears technician. here is a link for the website: sears home services .
