high limit thermostat for Kenmore dryer model 110.76930100
I replaced the thermostat, as it was open at room temperature. After replacing it the heater now runs but seems to get too hot. What is the regulating scheme for the heater? Should it cycle up against the high limit thermostat to control the heater temperature? high limit thermostat for Kenmore dryer model 110.76930100

thanks for contacting managemylife.com. i understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your dryer getting too hot. we are here to help. the high limit thermostat opens around 250 degrees. there is more that on thermostat in a dryer. to test the thermostat, a multimeter need to be hooked up to it. next, heat up the thermostat with something in which you know the temperature. if it does not open up at the correct temperature, it is bad. i provide you a schematic in the diagram below to help you correct the problem. i hope this helps.
