Why won't my Kenmore HE3 dryer start?

I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 dryer model 110.82824101. When I select the cycle and press start it just clicks and won't start. What can I do to fix it myself?

The faint click sound that you hear when the Start button is pushed is likely the motor relay closing. Since the motor relay appears to energize and click the most likely failure preventing your dryer from starting is a failed thermal fuse or possible a broken belt or the belt had come off causing the belt switch to open. The thermal fuse and the belt switch is wired and connected in series between the control board and the motor. If the thermal fuse has failed or if the belt has come off or broken, the dryer will not start even though the control board motor relay is energized and closing. The thermal fuse will need to be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. You also can make visual check to see if the belt is still intact. I added an image below with instructions how to access and test the thermal fuse. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the lower access panel.

This is exactly what I wanted to know. It appears that you may have a paper copy of the Service Manual I need. It there a way to get the full Service Manual as a PDF document?

john, were you ever able to get your hands on the service manual? I have been searching for it and the closest I have gotten is the wiring diagram attached to your original question.
