i understand the importance of having your kenmore gas dryer heat especially since it plays such a great role in maintaining your clothes wrinkle-free and smelling great! while you are waiting for an expert to respond, i have attached a helpful link below that may provide information to assist you with your question. have a great day!

thank you for your question and i understand your concern.

the igniter must be receive voltage and it must glow before the gas valve will open. i recommend to pry the small plastic square inspection hole cover off located below the door and then start the dryer. if you do not see the glow bar igniter glowing, it could have a broken igniter or one of the other components in the igniter circuit could be faulty. if the igniter is glowing and then fading off, then it likely has faulty solenoid coils. since you are not hearing the click, i would suspect a broken igniter or a faulty thermal fuse. the thermal fuse in located at the back of the dryer. the thermal fuse will be located on the blower housing and it will have a two blue wires connected to it.

in order to access the glow bar igniter, the front panel will need to be taken off. see images below. the thermal fuse and the igniter can be disconnected and tested for continuity with an ohm meter. note: disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

check the things i have covered here and if i may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

if you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a sears technician. here is a link for the website: sears home services .

another thing, there is nothing below the door as far as the igniter. the dryer is a kenmore gas dryer model number 110.76662500 and it appears that it must be somewhere other than the space indicated. thanks

l; there is a small square plastic inspection hole cover just below the door. the igniter is key #4 in the image below. i also added an image showing how to remove the front panel in order to access the burner assembly.
