just when the weather is getting hot and you are looking forward to those ice cold drinks, the ice maker goes on the blink.  no need to worry, an expert has already answered a similar question which may be helpful while waiting for additional information on your specific model.

i know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your ice maker. this icemaker has some test terminals on the module that may help determine what the problem is. to access the terminals, pull the front cover off of the icemaker. the terminals will be marked (see picture) and using a well insulated jumper, place it between the l - v terminals. be careful this is a hot (live) check. now press and hold the door (light) switch. with the jumper in place, water should flow to the icemaker. if water does flow, the icemaker will need to be replaced. if no water flows but you can hear a humming noise, the water valve will need to be replaced. if nothing at all happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. a technician may be needed to make these checks. i'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. here is a link for the website: sears home services .if you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. thank you for using manage my life.

our same model of refrigerator poured out a bunch of water over filling the ice cube compartment, filling the ice cube tray resulting in a manageable trail of water i was able to clean up. luckily something shut it off otherwise our new wood floors would have been ruined. two days earlier the cube remover mechanism froze in place and i heard a clicking coming from the ice maker. curious if the the two are realated and what is my next course of action? thanks.
