Kenmore Humidifier Motor Model 15420 15420

I lost my owners manual and need to replace one of the motors in a humidifier I purchased from Sears. It is a Kenmore 15420. Do you know where I can purchase the motor or get the part number?

Thank you for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand your need for the manual. I'm happy to help you today. I provided you with a direct link to the owner's manual for your humidifier. The parts list is located on page 16. The motor, part # 828115-1 can be purchased from Sears PartsDirect .

I provided some instructions on disassembling the humidifier and replacing the motor.

  1. Unplug the appliance
  2. Lift the pivoting lid and remove the entire top which holds the fan assembly.
  3. Flip the upper section upside down and around the tubes will be six screws.
  4. After removing the six screws, the fan motor should be clearly visible and held by two more screws. #Remove those two screws.
  5. The wires are color coded, so they can just be cut with a pair of wire cutters.
  6. Remove the fan blade which should be able to just be pulled off.
  7. Install the blade on the new motor, splice the wires and reattach with wire nuts.
  8. Reinstall the fan motor following the above directions in reverse.

If you do not feel comfortable repairing the motor yourself, service can be scheduled at the following link: Sears Home Services .

I really hope this information helps you today. For further assistance, please respond to this thread. I will be delighted to assist you. Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.
