dryer not spinning
I have a Kenmore dryer 70 series. The tub is not spinning, but the rubber around the back is off. Could this be the reason it isnt spinning?

I know how important it is to have the dryer in the home spinning properly so that you are not wasting any electricity and also the heat spreads throughout your clothes. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I suggest you add to the thread of this question and include the full model number of your dryer so that the expert can provide you with a more detailed answer. I did manage to find a link that will provide you with some good information to help you with your project. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.
If the motor will start and run when the dryer is started and the drum is not turning would indicate the drive belt has come off from the idler and motor pulley or the belt has broken in half.
I added a YouTube video showing how to install and new belt.
If this is not your type of dryer as shown in the video, reply with the model number for model specific instructions. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing your dryer.
If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
