Kenmore Freezer Temperature Alarm Stays On
My Kenmore freezer model 970 temperature alarm is going off. I try to reset the alarm but it doesn't go off. The red LED light stays on even after trying to reset it. The freezer is working, everything is staying cold, i put a thermometer in there and it says it is 11degrees. What's wrong?

On most Kenmore freezers the temperature alarm goes off when the control senses a temperature inside of 40 degrees or above. The alarm goes off when the temperature gets down to 5 degrees or lower.
If a freezer has very little food inside the temperature can go above 40 degrees when the freezer goes through a defrost cycle.
I recommend you go to http://services.sears.com/shs/category/repair?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch and get a Sears technician to diagnose and repair the freezer.
