GE GTUP270EM1WW Stacking Washer Dryer won't run after unbalanced load

I have a stacking washer/dryer # GE GTUP270EM1WW, It was bucking during a spin cycle. I took the clothes out an threw them ito the dryer. Not finishing the cycle. Now I can not get the machine to turn on. The Wash and spin light are flashing. How do I reset the washer? I unplugged for 5mn. and replugged. The on light comes on and the wash and spin lights are flashing again. I close the lid, turn the knob to wash cycle and push start and nothing happens. What should I try next?

I can understand your frustration over washer not running properly after an unbalanced load. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I did some research on the unit. At this time, I was unable to locate information that would be helpful in regards to your question. Some of these questions that are asked will need specific research and will be answered by an expert with-in two business days but usually sooner.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

The lid switch for the washer is broken and needs to be repaired.  The control board monitors the lid switch and if it becomes faulty the board will not allow the washer to operate.   The unbalanced condition most likely caused the switch to go faulty.  The Washer should be checked and repaired by a Sears Home Services technician and the fault cleared after the repair.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.
