Thank you for contacting manage my life for information concerning your mower model 917.377590, I will be glad to assist you. To remove the gas tank you must first remove the starter grill on the very top of the engine. There is one screw holding the grill in place and it is slotted on the other end. Once the grill cover is off you will see one screw on the gas tank (on the pull cord side) remove the screw and the tank will lift off straight up, until you can access the fuel line to disconnect. After fuel line is off the tank will pull straight up and off. (Always drain gas before starting repair and also remove spark plug from engine) (Always drain gas before starting repair and also remove spark plug from engine)  (Always drain gas before starting repair and also remove spark plug from engine) Wear proper safety equipment while servicing the product.I hope this helps you, if you need more help reply with added details and I will be happy to respond.
