how do I change the fuel pump on this mower,or at least take it out

craftsman riding mower model #917.255981 ,kohler engine #mv18s type#58556 needing to take out he fuel pump and replace it.

when an appliance doesn't work properly or gives out it can be very disappointing because you don't really know what is wrong with it or you might even have to buy a whole different appliance. a suggestion i have for you while you are waiting on your response from an expert is visiting searshomeservices.com website to set services. i have attached the link below if you are interested in viewing while waiting on your response from an expert. hope this helps, good luck

thank you for your question.

• to change the fuel pump on your tractor you will need to remove the hood and then facing the engine from the front, locate the fuel pump on the engine block behind the right hand intake tube.

• remove the fuel lines connected to the fuel pump with a pair of pliers, pinching the spring clamps that hold the fuel lines on.

• remove the two ⼠inch truss head screws to remove fuel pump from the engine block.

• the fuel pump part number is: 52-559-03-s

• remove old gasket and clean area for new gasket.

• install new gasket and fuel pump, and re-install the fuel lines and fasteners.

i can get it in there but it will not go around the shaft that is in there?
