YS4500 Lawn Tractor Transmission
How do I remove the vent cap on my lawn tractor's transmission in order to check the oil level? I've attached a picture. Do I unscrew the silver housing? Pull out the black plastic/rubber cap? Do something with the little white plastic thing in the middle? I know transmissions are sensitive, so I don't want to make a wrong move. The model # is 917.288360 Thanks!

The little piece down in the hole should just be a check valve that sits there. I do not show any threads or clips that hold it in. You can take a small screwdriver and gently go around the diameter of the rubber piece to pry it out. In most cases they will pop right out.
