I'd like to know if there's a way to defeat or overide the shutdown function when I try to go in reverse with the mower blades spinning. To have to disengage the blades every single time I want to change directions on the tractor is a huge waste of time. I've thought about always moving forward with the blades running but even with the good turning radius I need to travel further to eventually get the cut I want & that uses more gas. The model number is 247.288841, but I'm not completely sure. I bought it new in June 2011. I don't know if it's an electrical issue to modify or if it's mechanical. I have a feeling that there may be some legalities involved with keeping the blades spinning but who knows. We're competent adults using power equipment here & if shaving off 10 to 15 minutes on cutting my grass I'll welcome bypassing any shut down feature! My yard is kind of bumpy in spots & the tractor momentarily starts to shutoff when I get lifted from the seat slighty. That gets annoying. Any advice and/or solutions to my issues will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

due to legal issues, i cannot give advice or describe to you how to defeat the safety circuits that were put in place from the manufacturer. i completely understand the frustration with this but sears is very firm on this subject. i'll also add: as much as the safety devices and features can be irritating sometimes, i've seen enough bad things happen to good people to where i flat out advise against defeating the safety circuits.
