There is no drain plug. What does the service manual say? Thanks.

i understand that you are in need of changing the oil to your craftsman air compressor. i was able to locate a copy of your owners manual to view while you wait on your response from an expert. i hope this comes in handy. have a great day!

thanks alina. i have the service manual. it does not include oil change instructions. i just found an earlier answer here that says to remove the oil level glass, but doesn't clearly describe the steps to follow, so additional details would be helpful.

i changed the oil and it was easy. i removed the oil fill cap to ensure there would be no vacuum inhibiting oil flow out of the compressor. i removed the oil sight gauge and quickly discovered that it also is a drain plug. despite having overfilled the oil reservoir, only a few drops came out, which i caught in a hand-held drain pan. i removed the rest of the oil by tilting the compressor forward about 30 degrees, pouring the oil into the hand-held oil pan. i replaced and tightened the oil sight gauge. i slowly added oil until the level reached the center of the red dot in the sight gauge. note that the owner's manual states that oil capacity is only 90 ml (3 ounces). so, it is very easy to overfill. i replaced and tightened the oil fill cap. a little later, i noticed that the oil had reached the top of the red dot, which is the level recommended by the owner's manual. that's all there was to it. for those who are interested, the earlier answer to this question is at http://tinyurl.com/85racd3
