E 24 error on Bosch dishwasher

water not draining. soap tray not opening

bosch dishwashers are a great convenience, especially whey functioning properly. the link provided below may give you an idea of what may be happening with your dishwasher while waiting on a specific model error code of e24.

the code indicates a drain problem. i would expect there to be a drain pump failure unless there is a loose connection at the drain pump. if the drain hose goes to a disposal make sure the plug in the disposal has be knocked out. the unit should be level. one thing about the e:24 error is that by definition the error means the drain pump is running but no water is being drained so look for a blockage in the drain line. if you're sure the lines are not blocked and the disposal plug is out and the drain pump does run and drain the water then it might be a control board problem. with the toe panel off you should be able to confirm if the drain pump is running. i hope this helps. you can reply with any additional details and a model number for further assistance.

hi fred, i have the sam eproblem. i have bosch dishwasher mod#she6af02uc/06, e24 error code water is not pumping in. i have checked the drain, thats not an issue at all. i pulled the switch at the base and water drains out with no issues. when ever i run the cycle it keeps giving me the error and the water does not pump in. pls advise thanks

if the water drains then the door switch is okay. the water valve may be the problem. at this point the next step would be checking voltage to the water valve across the two purple wires. voltage and no water then the valve is bad. no voltage then the control is at fault.

just an fyi. while e24 is an error that doe indicates water drain/pump issues or clogs -- if that all seems ok this is what i have found.... -- during the main power up -- if the main motor senses it is drawing more current than normal -- you'll get this error. further -- if you've been using one of those "all in one" cleaning tablets that have rinse agent built in -- and you put in rinse agent into it's container -- the excess sudsing due to excess rinse aid may be activating an anti flooding switch -- also causing this error. concerning the main pump motor -- overdraw of current could be due to calcium build up -- especially if you are not using the proper salt (which is not easy to find). a solution is a regular cleaning with a bit of clr. note this will cause suds too. so clean -- run, repeat, then run a couple times with no clr then remember also not to use a dishwasher soap that contains a rinse agent. and lastly -- be sure to test your water and use approved dishwasher salt. only.

my bosch dishwasher has thrown that e-24 code infrequently for months and now it has the code and won't fill and run at all. i poured water into the dishwasher manually and all it does is pump the water out but does not continue running. what do you think is wrong?

i had this message on mine also all i did was took the drainage componenant out of the bottom of the washer it just twists out and cleaned it out really good , then where the door latches at the top there is a little lever i pushed backwards until it snapped , and had nothing in the washer and set it to quick wash and held the button down until it started flashing and then pressed it again the start button that is and it started right up
