Is anode rod part number 4710185 (used in Whirlpool water heaters) made with aluminum or magnesium?
Model No: EE3Z50RD055V 7 digit Product Number: 0830139 Serial Number: 0451123406 Whirlpool 50 gal. electric water heater Unit is suffering from aluminum hydroxide build-up of "jelly beads" and requires replacement with a magnesium anode rod. Is subject replacement part (4710185) aouminum or magnesium? If aluminum, what is a compatible part number for a magnesium anode rod?
