Your Frigidaire freezer helps you save money by giving you storage space when you buy in bulk. While it's typically an extremely trusty appliance, every now and then you may need to make a few repairs to keep it running at its best. If your freezer becomes too warm, you run the risk of losing all the food you've stored. If your ice cream starts to melt, check out these troubleshooting tips.

Perform Routine Maintenance

Keeping your Frigidaire freezer properly sealed and closed has a big effect on its ability to stay cold enough. Before you begin any further freezer troubleshooting, regularly clean the grill under the freezer and the condenser coils in the back of the appliance to keep coolant flowing freely. Adjust the freezer door, and keep the seals well-lubricated to keep warm air out of the freezer.

Check the Thermostat

Your freezer relies on a thermostat to cycle the compressor on and off and keep the appliance's interior temperature cold enough. If the compressor stops cycling and the freezer begins to get warm, replace the cold control thermostat, one of many freezer repair parts available at Sears PartsDirect.

Replace the Condenser Fan Motor

When refrigerant comes out of the freezer's compressor, it's actually hot. The condenser fan cools it back down to freezing temperatures. When the condenser fan motor stops working, the fan can no longer keep the air moving over the condenser coils, resulting in warm temperatures inside the freezer. If your fan has stopped blowing, consider replacing the condenser fan motor.

Sears PartsDirect carries a wide selection of freezer parts for Frigidaire freezers as well as other brands. When you've narrowed down your freezer's problem, just choose the model from the list above, click the chat button or call 1-800-252-1698.
