Quality Hotpoint range parts from Sears PartsDirect keep your range in top shape for satisfactorily cooked foods every time. A common range problem is when the range completely stops working. Use the following tips to troubleshoot and repair a range that does not turn on.

Inspect the Range Power Cord

Unplug the power cord, and look it over for worn or damaged areas. A damaged power cords does not deliver electricity to the appliance. If the cord appears worn, replace the power cord with new stove repair parts to solve the problem. Select a three- or four-prong cord to match the outlet currently in use.

Check the Main Terminal Block

The main terminal block transfers the electrical power from the cord to the heating elements of the stove. A short in the terminal block wiring keeps the entire range from working. The terminal block is in the rear of the stove where the power cord enters the unit. Inspect the terminal block for damaged wires, melted insulation or discolored terminal connections. Replace a faulty terminal block with quality range parts to restore function to your range.

Reset the Thermal Fuse

Both gas and electric ranges have a thermal fuse to keep them from overheating. Sometimes the self-cleaning cycle trips the fuse and prevents the range from working. A gas and electric range DIY repair help tip is to remove the back panel of the range and press the reset button on the fuse to get the range working again.

Select quality Hotpoint range parts from Sears PartsDirect to maintain and repair your Hotpoint gas or electric range. To get started, choose your model from the list above, click the chat button, or call 1-800-252-1698.
