Homemakers and professional cooks alike rely on high-quality Dwyer product range parts to ensure their food is cooked accurately at the correct temperature. One common problem during stove operation is that the burners do not heat properly. Below are several ways to troubleshoot this common issue.

Replace the Range Spark Igniter Switch

The range spark igniter switch sits on the stem of the gas surface burner control valve and causes the burner igniters to spark. If the switch does not work, the burners cannot heat properly, and the switch must be replaced. The range spark igniter switch is one of many stove repair parts that is easy to find. When replacing the switch, be sure to shut off the power and gas.

Replace the Range Spark Igniter Electrode

The range spark igniter electrode is an insulated piece that transfers an ignition spark to the surface burner. If the electrode fails to spark, or if it appears to be visibly chipped or cracked, it must be replaced. This is one of many range parts that is essential for stove functionality. When replacing the range spark igniter electrode, be sure to wear gloves to protect your hands. Remove the grates, burner caps and burner heads first.

Replace the Range Relay Control Board

One tip for when you are in need of gas and electric range DIY repair help is to replace the range relay control board. This piece controls the voltage going into the surface element. If the board fails to transport the correct voltage to a surface component, it needs to be replaced. Be sure to wear gloves for protection.
