Homes, restaurants, hotels and other industries rely on durable residential and industrial dryers. Unfortunately, even quality dryers occasionally break, but Builder's Best provides reliable repair parts via Sears PartsDirect. When a dryer simply stops working, there are a series of steps that may repair this issue. Start with these three simple tips.

Verify the Dryer Thermal Fuse

The thermal fuse is responsible for detecting air temperature in the dryer. When the external or internal air temperature is above specification, this fuse prevents the machine from working. If the thermal fuse is tripped once, even accidentally, it is necessary to buy a new one. Dryer repair parts are simple to purchase from Sears PartsDirect.

Replace the Dryer Timer

This control panel timer allows a user to set the drying time, and it includes a small motor that pushes the timer forward throughout the drying cycle. This mechanism requires replacement when the dryer does not start or when the timer does not properly advance. When dryer troubleshooting, it's recommended to start with the dryer timer.

Check the Dryer Motor Relay

The dryer motor relay is not included in all dryer models, but models that include this device often have functioning problems. If the relay receives the proper voltage, the dryer's motor continues to function properly. Otherwise, the relay automatically and electronically prevents the motor from working. Replacing this device resolves any motor relay issues.

While there are a variety of problems that occur with complex devices such as dryers, the most common culprits are motor relays, timers and thermal fuses. Avoid home, business or industrial setbacks with regular maintenance. If required, choose your model from the list above, click the chat button, or call 1-800-252-1698.
