Thank you for your question. I know it can be frustrating when the refrigerator stops working. If it�s not cooling at all, it first needs to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will probably be in the seal system or with the compressor. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make.

If the compressor is not running, it could be a problem with the starting device, the compressor itself or if the condenser motor is not running. If the motor is not running and the compressor is very hot, the motor will need to be replaced. If the motor is running but not the compressor, sometimes it can be difficult to determine if the problem is with the starting device or the compressor. This can be a difficult unit to check.
