The repair was completed June 6th of last year, this is only the second time used this spring and the Torque jam nut and adjusting screw for the push rods has fallen out, obviously because the torque jam nut was not locked correctly, this should not be under the 90 day warrantee period! I wish I could attach picture but cannot via this medium! If I had an email address I will send you the pictures! Thank You! Randy Roland 518-312-5216 email- rjroland99@yahoo.com

Q:

Fuel pump location 4456770413E1 Briggs&stratton Briggs & stratton engine

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

The fuel pump on your model is on the engine after the filter but before the carburetor. If you need to check the pump, I recommend removing the fuel supply line off the carburetor. Then place the end of the hose into an approved container. Once you have the hose in the container, turn the ignition key. Then let the engine crank a little. If you do not get fuel pumping out, turn the key off and let the starter cool down. Once it has time to cool try it again. You can do this up to four times. If you never get fuel, check the vacuum line going to the fuel pump. If that line is cracked, the pump will not work. If the vacuum line looks ok and it is not pumping, I recommend replacing the fuel pump.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. If the tractor will continue to run with the choke pulled out the problem is a partly plugged main jet. You should be able to cure the problem by cleaning the carburetor. To clean the main jet park the tractor in a well ventilated area. Then use a pair of vise grips to pinch the fuel line so it does not leak. Once it is pinched off, remove the float bowl from the carburetor. Then use a thin wire and carburetor cleaner to flush out the main jet and the emulsion tube. Once they are clear, reassemble the carburetor, and test the operation.

Please click here to go to a site that shows how to rebuild the carburetor. I like to give this site because it shows the parts of the carburetor.
