Question and Answers

Q:

Hi I have a Kitchenaid microwave model YKHMS2050SS2 - I have a glass cooking tray and working motor. What other parts do I need to make the glass turn? YKHMS2050SS2 Kitchenaid Microwave hood combi...

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about parts for your Kitchenaid microwave model YKHMS2050SS2. I will be happy to help you with this.

Between the turntable motor and the glass tray there are three parts. They are the spacer, part number 8206101; the turntable drive, part number 8205994; and the turntable ring, part number 8206222. All three parts are available on www.SearsPartsDirect.com.

Safety Warning:  Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged from the power supply. Any parts that need the cabinet opened should only be installed by a qualified technician. Special equipment is needed to work on a microwave starting with an anti-static wrist strap grounded to the microwave to even test components in it. Even minor door repairs and adjustments can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test MUST be performed using a survey meter after ANY/ALL microwave service.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Hi Larry, the attached link doesn't work and the part you mentioned doesn't sound right. I need to replace a metal plate that is screwed to the roof of the interior of the microwave, it's located next to the interior light. It is about 4 inches square with one of the sides rounded. Thanks, Ryan

Burnt and delaminated metal piece inside roof of microwave oven Ykhms2050ss2

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when working with the microwave.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your model number ykhms2050ss2.

Microwaves are dangerous to work on weather plugged in and just as dangerous when unplugged.   You can go to www.partsdirect.com and see the part needed in the interior and air flow parts area.  It is key number 13 called the inverter holder.

I can appreciate wanting to diagnose and repair the microwave yourself, however I strongly recommend against it. We do not give repair information on microwave ovens because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. You need special equipment to work on a microwave starting with an anti-static wrist strap grounded to the microwave to even test components in it. Even minor door repairs and adjustments can cause microwave leakage, and a microwave shielding leakage test MUST be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service.
