Question and Answers

Q:

Is there a difference in the degrees of aggressiveness between a Kenmore, Whirlpool & Westinghouse washer?

A:

The Kenmore and Whirlpool washers are almost identical. The agitators may be slightly different but the rest of the components are virtually the same. Whirlpool manufactures that model of washer for Kenmore. That is why those two washers are the same.

The Kenmore and Whirlpool washers will agitate more aggressively than the Westinghouse model. The Kenmore and Whirlpool models have a direct drive transmission while the Westinghouse washer has a belt drive transmission. The direct drive washers will drive the agitator with more speed and force than a belt drive washer. This may account for differences that you see in the appearance of clothing coming out of the washers.
