Question and Answers

Q:

Cabrio top load washer. Makes a tremendous amount of noise during spin cycle. WTW7600XW0

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Whirlpool Washer, Model: WF419AAW/XAA0000. From reviewing the details on your model, foreign objects like pens, coins, screws and bra wires can make squeaking, scraping, knocking or thumping noises when they make contact with the drum or basket as it rotates. If these noises are heard during the cycle, when possible, stop the unit and search for and remove any foreign objects. It is possible for some objects to get stuck between the washer tub and basket and may not be removable. This would require service. Prior to starting the washer check all pockets to make sure no foreign objects are in the laundry. When a foreign object makes it into the washer or dryer, it can damage the inside of the drum or basket and should be removed as soon as possible. Coins can travel to and damage the pump.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the washer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Whirlpool model number  wtw7600xw0.

Every F code that I see has a letter after it or an alphabetical letter before it.   Sorry but do no see the letter F by itself.

Is there an F and then does it flash 1, 2,or 3 etc times?   I need to know how many times it flashes after the F shows please.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Q:

Washer lid will not stay up. WTW7600XW0 Whirlpool Automatic washer

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I am sorry to hear of the lack of tension for the Whirlpool lid, I know how frustrating that can be.

I suspect by the issue, you are in need of new Spring Hinge assemblies that the lid hinge arms connect to. They are left and right hand specific. Replacing these items should solve the problem for you.

For convenience purposes, I have included blue links below that you may click on to be directed to the PartsDirect page to view and purchase the parts.

Left Spring Hinge for Model WTW7600XW0

Right Spring Hinge for Model WTW7600XW0

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you for the response, glad to hear you received the new spring hinges. I should be able to provide you some details on gaining access to the unit:

To gain access to the top of the cabinet:

  1. Unplug the Whirlpool Cabrio washer from the wall outlet. Turn the water supply off at the spigot coming from the wall.
  2. Place a bucket under the water supply connections at the rear of the washer. Unscrew the water hoses from the washer and set the ends of the hoses inside the bucket.
  3. Use a socket wrench to remove the three hex head screws that secure the rear of the control panel to the washer.
  4. Use tape and secure the washer's lid in place.
  5. Place the Cabrio control panel on the top of the washer cabinet with the wiring harnesses pointed toward you. Label the wire connectors with pieces of masking tape. Press in on the plastic locking tabs of each wiring harness and pull to disconnect them. Move the control panel away from the work area.
  6. Insert a putty knife under the front of the top panel and locate the two front retaining locks. The locks are 6 inches from each corner. Press in on the locks to release them.
  7. Lift up on the washer top and disconnect the two wiring harness located toward the left side of the Cabrio washer. Set the washer top panel out of the way.

I have provided a link below for a disassembly video you may watch to show how to disassemble the unit as well. Essentially, you will need to gain access underneath the top, the piece that holds the dispensers to access the hinges. The spring hinges are secured into place via a screw.

Hopefully this will help you gain access to the machine and make the necessary repair. Let me know if I can be of further assistance and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
