Question and Answers

Q:

Washing Machine is now very loud WTW7340XW0

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching modelWTW7340XW0; it could be the bearing is going out. Turn the tub by hand and listen for a jet engine or grinding sound. If you hear it then it could be the bearing. It could be the shock absorbers are worn out. See if the tub has lots of movement in the agitate cycle or spin cycle.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Washing Machine is now very-very loud during the spin cycles WTW7340XW0 I also have a four and a half year old Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine, Model# WTW7340XW0. All of a sudden it also started to get louder and louder during its spin cycle. I have checked multiple things; also the size of the load has no effect. And it does possible sound like a dry bearing. Looking at the MOTOR, BASKET AND TUB PARTS diagram for model # WTW7340XW0 Whirlpool-Parts I have been unable to identify which items would be the bearings. Could you please identify which item(s) are/have the bearings?

Check the water supply connections to make sure that they are not reversed. The washer will normally signal the HC error code if those water supply lines are reversed. That is not likely causing your problem but it is worth checking.

You can test the washer by performing the diagnostic test that is shown in the first image below. You can check the temperature of the water that fills the washer in the various sections of that test. If hot water is coming out during that portion of the test that is supposed to use cold water then you could have a problem with the control board or the automatic temperature control system. The second image shows some testing information for that system in the washer. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

This information may help you diagnose and fix this temperature problem on your own. You can order parts from this page if necessary: Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW7340XW0 Parts .

If you need more help, reply with additional details based on the testing that we provided.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
