Question and Answers

Q:

root problem of washer gear case going out WTW5840SW0

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching model WTW5840SW0; there should be a motor coupling between the motor and the gear case. The motor or gear case would have to be loose to give it enough room to move.  Check the motor and gear case for movement. I would recommend calling our repair department to have a tech diagnose the issue.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Q:

How to remove control panel on a Whirlpool washer?

A:

You will need to slip a putty knife between the bottom of the end cap and the main top to release a spring clip. See image below. While pushing back on the spring clip, lift the front corner of the console and repeat step for the other side. Once both clips are released the console can be hinged over the rear panel. NOTE: The image below will show a different console from yours but the instructions are the same.
