This particular model and switch does not have a history of failure.

The only know problem was if the washer was started then the temperatures changed while running the switch would fail prematurely.

Set the temperatures before starting the washer.

Please confirm the model number. Some models had a ATC temperature switch that would sense if the hoses were reversed and swap the inputs to correct for this. This switch was sometimes to sensitive and swap the hot and cold by mistake. This was not an issue for the model number you have but it was for a model WTW5810SW0.

Please confirm the model number.

Try selecting the wash/rinse temperatures before starting the washer.

Model number correct at 5820. Hot/cold hoses not reversed. I will try and train the family to "remember" not to change temp switch while washer is filling up. I use cold water for most all tasks...the lady of the house uses hot for sheets, towels....If this is truely the case, I can already predict this will be one of those "I Forgot" issues....@ $70 each for replacement. Thanks for your help Fred!
