Hi,

Thank you for your question, and I would like to answer the question this way.
The dispenser you have purchased may not fit into your agitator. The dispenser is designed to be locked in the top of the agitator and the agitator top has holes so the softener can be slung out in spin. What model number did you use to get the dispenser; you may need to purchase a new agitator for it to work.

If you have warranty I would not recommend the changing the way the washer was sold, do not want to get into warranty troubles.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.
Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Your Whirlpool washer does not have a lint filter. Any lint or dog hairs that do not get pump out with the drain water is usually removed by the dryer.

You may try smaller loads with a high water level may help.

Check to see if the washer will drain and spin with no clothes in the washer. If the washer has trouble draining the water with no clothes in the washer, I recommend that you check the washer drain and the drain hose for clogs. I you find no problems, you will probably need to access the drain pump inside the cabinet to check for problems. Drain the washer and unplug it. You can access the drain pump using the procedure shown in this video: Washing Machine Drain Pump Replacement . The console on your washer should have a screw at the back of the end caps that will need to be removed before hinging that console up into the service position.

If you find a problem with the drain pump, you can either remove a clog or replace the drain pump (part 3363394). You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components.

If the drain pump is working properly, you could have a problem with the clutch assembly or basket drive that could prevent the washer from spinning. Here is a video that shows how to replace the clutch assembly: Washing Machine Clutch Replacement .

These tips may help you with this washer problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
