Hello Tom. That type of problem in your GE Spacemaker Washer is usually caused by a failure of the water level pressure switch (part WH12X10038). There is a possibility that you have a hole or tear in the air pressure hose that is connected between the water level pressure switch and the bottom of the tub. I recommend that you unplug the washer and check that air hose before replacing the pressure switch. If that air hose is okay, then you can order the pressure switch from this page: Water Level Pressure Switch WH12X10038. Be sure that you unplug the washer before accessing internal components and replacing parts.
