I can understand how frustrating it is to have issues with your ice maker. The ice maker in your refrigerator works on a timed system. This means that each function has a certain amount of time to complete. It sounds like the motor is not sending the signal to close the water valve. It could also be that the water valve is not receiving a signal either. You will need to test both the ice maker and the water valve to find out which part needs to be replace. I would recommend that you have a technician complete this for you. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread.

I'm sorry you are having this problem with your icemaker. Based on the information listed, this would appear to be a stuck water valve. To determine for sure, turn the water back on to the refrigerator. If water still flows out of the icemaker fill tube, disconnect the power cord. If the water stops, it will indicate a problem with the icemaker. This could be a switch or motor problem. The motor is no longer available for this icemaker. I would not recommend attempting to repair the icemaker. Replacing parts that are available can be expensive and then you still have an old icemaker. The replacement icemaker is # WR30X10093. It could also be a short in the wiring but it's not very likely.

If the water continues to flow with the power cord unplugged, it will indicate the water valve # WR57X10051 is stuck and will need to be replaced. These parts are available at SearsPartsDirect . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.

Larry, if the icemaker will not turn off when the arm is raised, the icemaker # WR30X10093 will need to be replaced. In this case, the only way to shut the water off to the icemaker would be to disconnect the wires on the water valve. This would be the solenoid with the white and orange wires. First disconnect the power to the unit and then remove the back panel cover. You will now be able to see the water valve and can disconnect the connector with the white and orange wires. Be sure to tape the connector off good. If you would like to have a technician check this, you can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. I hope this will help you.
