Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the new icemaker. The fill cup on this icemaker is interchangeable. It can be used for a side fill or it can be moved to the back of the icemaker for a back fill. The fill cup and insert can be reversed. I'm attaching a picture and I hope it will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

William, if the water comes in from the back, the cup will also need to be mounted to the back of the icemaker. If the fill cup on this new icemaker will not allow water flow from the back side, the fill cup will need to be removed from the original icemaker and installed on this new icemaker. I hope this helps you. If you would like more assistance, any pictures you can send would be very helpful.

the fill cup from the old one won't work because where the water flows into the actual tray is on the opposite side from the new tray.. the only solution i can see is to find a couple of elbows and pipe it around to the side inlet

William, I'm sorry you are having this problem. This has not been a problem when replacing the icemaker. This replacement icemaker is designed to replace the original and it should work by making the adjustments that have been described. I recommend having a technician check this, if it still won't fit back in place properly. You can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. However, there another icemaker # WR30X10014, which is a back fill that you can try, that may work. I hope this helps you.
