Question and Answers

Washer won't get past filling with water WPRE8150K1WT Ge Washer

Thank you for choosing and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your washer will not go through the cycles.

You will need to test the lid switch first and then the control board.

Lid switch WH12X10333 detects if the washer lid is open or closed and prevents the wash tub from spinning and agitating when the lid is open.

Click here for videos on testing the lid switch.

can motor be problem if unit wont spin or agitate? WPRE8150K1WT Ge Washer

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears
I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the washer.
Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your GE Washer model number WPRE8150K1WT.

Your tub won't spin or agitate so the first thing to look at is the belt on your machine.   The belt is under the tub near the bottom.

2nd thing to check and need to do it with a meter is check the lid switch to make sure it doesn't have a short in it.

3rd thing to check is the pressure hose and switch.

4th thing to look at is the wiring behind the control board to make sure there isn't any bare, broken, or loose wires.

last but not least could be either the motor or the control board.   The control board has all the timing programs so it could be that too.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs. "Please resubmit" if there are any further questions or statements.  Thank you for choosing Sears and using our
