Question and Answers

Q:

leaking fuel WP2167517BV Snapper Mower

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your mower and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number and the hole in the primer bulb is to let air into the bulb. When you push the bulb you force the air through the venturi and the air draws gas with it.

The reason the gas is coming out the hole in the primer bulb is either the carburetor has some obstruction in the fuel travel passages or the float is letting the carburetor overfill.

The float might have a leak in it and has filled with gas. This keeps it from floating and turning off the flow of fuel from the gas tank. You might also have some debris in the seat the float needle shuts off causing an overfill.

Remove the carburetor from the engine and take the bowl off. Inspect the float and the seat and needle.

If you don't find your problem there, the carburetor will need to be cleaned and rebuilt or replaced. You will need the model number for the engine for parts. WP2167517BV only shows parts for the tractor mower itself.  If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information. Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.
