Question and Answers

Q:

Grease spots WJSR4160D5WW Ge Washer

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Ge Washer, Model: 106.8628180. From reviewing the details on your model, first I recommend running the washer through a cleaning cycle without clothing between wash days. Use the hottest setting available on the washer with about a cup of bleach. This will help break down any residual detergent or fabric softener build up. Wipe a bleach and water solution up under the rim to remove any residue lurking there. The dispenser should be removed and cleaned as fabric softener leaves the kinds of stains mentioned and a can build up in the dispenser. Use the first image below to remove and clean. When adding fabric softener, be careful not to overfill the dispenser. It may splash over onto dry clothing and leave stains. When the final load of wash is done, leave the lid up overnight. This will help facilitate drying and avoid possible mildew forming. As to the clothes appearing dingy, try adjusting the preset water temperatures if needed. Use the second image below as a guide. Try adding a little borax to the wash. It helps brighten up any wash. I hope these tips help.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the washer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

Q:

Clothes come out wet WJSR4160D5WW Ge Washer

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your washer and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number wjsr4160d5ww and if your clothes is wet after the cycle is done is if the drain pump is not working and completely draining the water. If the pump is working properly it may be the motor on the machine not spinning the basket fast enough to get all the water out of the tub. The motor is a 2 speed and may not be functioning correctly. Here is a link that will help troubleshoot the pump. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Q:

How do I replace the agitator for my GE washing machine?

A:

The agitator should have come out in one piece. There are not any screws securing the agitator down. The agitator will pull straight off. You may need a strap or puller if the agitator is stuck.
