Hi,

Thank you for your question, and I would like to answer the question this way.
I would advise you to check the pressure switch and find out if the pressure switch is working. The upper is the safety switch and turns off the water if there is a problem. The ohms reading can be done from the main board, on the 10 pin connector. Ohm the orange wire to the brown wire. If closed there is a problem with the pressure switch.

Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts

If the switch needs to be replaced here is the link, GE Washer WJRE5550K3WW switch .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.

Thanks for your response. i meant to include that as well. I measured resistance across the pressure switch and it was under 10 ohms. I have been doing some more troubleshooting and was able to fill the washer up with water with a hose and it operates correctly once the right amount of water is in the tub (based upon load size set at the pressure swiitch). The fill and wash light toggles back and forth until filled and then the wash light is steady on. It will go through the entire wash cycle, drain and spin, but when it gets to rinse it will go know further because there is no water (i assume) My thought is that there is a problem in the control circuitry but am unsure how to test. Any ideas?

I recommend you replace the pressure switch should be 0 ohms or open. Upper section inside the switch turns off the water.

On the 10 pin connector yellow to brown is reading 0 ohms, if there is no water in the tub, disconnect the hose from the pressure switch and ohm once more and if the brown to yellow is still 0 and this will reset the switch and see if it will fill if not and the switch is ok but the control board is faulty. WH12X10439 is the parts number and the part cost 130.00. On it is a selector jumper, make sure you place the jumper on the new board so it will know what model your washer is.
