I did find the instructions to remove the agitator and I am not seeing that there needs a special tool. I do see that you will need to remove the 7/16 bolt.

Q:

washer hits ground WJRE5500G1WW

A:

I know that it can be very difficult to have issues with your washer. There are very few things that will allow the tub to drop like this. There are two suspension rods and the platform that keeps the tub suspended and balanced. Since the platform is not likely to break or move, then I would suspect that the one or both of the rods is the problem. I would suggest that you replace these first. They are part numbers WH16X0545 and WH16X10057. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help. Thank you for using Manage My Life.com.
