Question and Answers

Q:

on my control panel all functions work(light up) but when i hit the start button nothing happens, is this a starter switch or the hole control panel? WHSE5240D1WW Ge Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching model WHSE5240D1WW; the start button is integrated into the control panel. If the start button is not working then it could be the actual button .If the button is not damaged then the control board could need to be replaced. I linked a diagram below and the control assembly is number 35.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Thanks for the question about your washer drain system, I will be glad to help with this.

Standard maximum length of the drain hose is 8 ft.  And you washer is no exception. This is stated in your owner's manual. Any height beyond that may cause poor draining and flow-back resulting in poor wash results. I hope this helps, should you need additional assistance please reply with more details and I will be happy to respond.  Ron H.

I know that it can be difficult to have issues with your washer. If the washer is leaking at top of the drive shaft, then the problem is most likely the tub seal. This can wear down, or have a tear that will allow water to go through. I would suggest that you have a technician replace this part, because you need to remove the inner tub to get to it.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
