When I switch the Bypass valve to Service so the water will flow into the unit, the Bypass sound like a horn and the pipes shake and do the same. WHES40 Whirlpool Water softener

From my experience, and your discription, you have air in the lines and needs to be purged.

Thanks for the reply. The Water Softner has been hooked up and working for 10 years. Is there a way to purge air from the lines? When I turn the water back on I always hear the air escaping from the lines just ahead of the water. If that isn't enough is there a direct way to purge the line of any remaining AIR.
