Hi Curtis,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

There is a belt installation tool that you can buy that will make this process somewhat easier. But the preferred way is with small zip ties. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts. Place the belt on the motor pulley and stretch the belt to the tub pulley. Attach the belt to 1 point at the tub pulley. Have someone turn the basket a little and keep attaching the zip ties every 2 inches or so until the belt is in place. Carefully cut the zip ties off the tub pulley and youre in business.

Here is a link that you may use to purchase the Belt Installation Tool .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

To Carol, Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life. If you have the top open, under the top the lid switch has a tab you must press (see image below). Then just pop the new switch in and wire it the same way as the old one. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Below is a link for the website. Thanks again for using Manage My Life. Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the washer. if the washer is not agitating the problem could be a broken belt, defective motor, mode shifter, lid switch, or main control. I recommend unplugging the washer and removing the front cover. Then inspect the belt to make sure it is intact. If the belt is fine, the washer will require more advanced checks to determine the failure. These checks require live voltage checks. I recommend having a technician come out and make, the checks but if you are comfortable making voltage checks please use the following information. serious injury can result if live voltage checks are done correctly. I have provided you with an image below showing where to check for codes on the motor. If you do not see any lights on the motor, you might have a blown fuse in the wire harness or a defective motor. You can check the voltage to the motor on the red/black to white/red with the washer plugged in but not in a cycle. If you have the needed voltage and no light on the motor, you have to replace the motor.

Please reply below if you need further assistance on the repair of the washer.
