I have WHIRLPOOL W10028970 (AP3951480). It does not power and does not make a humming sound. I tested the thermal fuse, push start switch and the door switch

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

The model number you gave me is actually a part number for a control panel. This control panel fits one of two models WED5310SQ0 and WGD5310SQ0. The WED5310SQ0 is the electric model and has a thermal fuse so I will assume you have this one.

You state that you checked the thermal fuse, push start switch and the door switch, but you did not mention how you checked them. I will assume you have a meter. The next thing I recommend is checking the voltage at the wall outlet. I am including an image below that shows how to do this. I am also including a wiring diagram for this dryer in the second image. If voltage at the wall outlet is good you will need to check for voltage at the motor. Working with live electrical current can be very hazardous and possibly deadly. Testing voltage output requires working with electrical current. Do not attempt this measurement without the proper tools and safeguards. If you are not sure you can make these checks safely, please refer this work to a service tech.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website; Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or purchase any parts needed for your appliance; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include the correct model number and more details in a reply to this post.
