Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your washer.

Without your model number I am only able to give you general information.

The F70 error code indicates a loss of communications between the electronics.

Press the Power button. Does the washer beep 3 times? If it does not; perform the Quick Test:

  1. Lock the control by pressing and holding the cycle signal button.
  2. Press the Power button.
  3. If the lock light flashes when you press the power button it indicates the center interface was able to take the input and the right hand user interface received the DCV signal from the center user interface but since the display did not light. This indicates an issue with the right hand user interface.

Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. Make sure you include the model number when replying to this post. The model number will be located inside the door opening or on the back panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Hi Cheryl, The next thing you will need to do is UNPLUG THE WASHER and remove the toe panel (see image below). The Motor Control Unit (MCU) is located in the lower left side of the cabinet. Remove the MI3 (3 blue wires) from the MCU (leave these wires disconnected). Plug the washer back in and try to start a normal wash cycle. If you do not get the 3 beeps (no F70) and the washer tries to start, the MCU is shorted and needs to be replaced. Please perform the diagnostic tests detailed here and report back with your findings. I am looking forward to assisting you again in the near future. Thanks again for using Manage My Life. Landell
