Q:

Why is my washer stuck on "add a cycle?" WFW8300SW04 Whirlpool Residential washer

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

You could have a problem with the control or the door lock assembly that is causing this failure. Check the display for a fault code when the washer stops in the cycle and will not continue. I recommend unplugging your washer for a few minutes, and then after you plug it back in, try starting a cycle.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question.  I will be happy to help you with this question but I am having a problem bringing up the WFW3800S model number.

Can you please double check the model number and reply below with any changes if there are any.  It would also be helpful if you could provide a serial number.  There may be a problem but ofter a problem with a particular model depends on when it was made so the serial number is also needed to determine if the washer is part of a recall.

Thank you for the updated model and serial number. There is no service flash or service alert fot this particular washer. I did find a Service Pointer concerning vibration and shaking problem.s The service pointer was issued in 2009 and would only be applicable if the washer was under warranty. The vibration kit came with several parts and not all parts where always needed. A service pointer is more of an update to the technician about fixing a particular problem. A serivce flash would be concerned with safety issues or parts that are failing prematurely. A repair based upon a service flash might be covered by an warranty extension. If your problem is shaking or excessive vibration that just started then there is most likely a problem with a particular part. I hope this information is helpful to you.
