Q:

Have white dots on my tv Wd-60737

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your television. I am so sorry there are white dots on it. I know the TV is a key part of our daily lives and know you want to get it fixed quickly. In this case, I recommend you have the TV repaired by a qualified technician.

We do not give diagnostic or repair advice on televisions because internal components in the TV can retain a dangerously high electrical charge, even when the TV is disconnected from the power supply. Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your home repairs but in this case, for your safety, we recommend you have the TV serviced. To set up service go to www.SearsHomeServices.com or call 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. I hope we can help you with any future repairs. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

What's the problem with my 60 inch TV?

A:

error code 66 is a lamp or lamp ballast issue. factory lamp is around 210.00 a generic online lamp about 60.00 but won't last as long as factory. the lamp ballast is about 60.00. the worst case would be the DMD board not sending power to the ballast. the DMD boards are 600.00 or so and 209 labor to install it. a sears tech would come out for a trip charge of 115.00 and diagnose the problem to be sure what it was. for a lamp replacement from sears your looking at around 200.00 or so for the lamp, and labor and trip charge combined of 209.00 or you can decline the repair pay the 115.00 trip charge and then get your own lamp and install it. or you can just get a lamp and give it a try if the lamp doesn't work then get a lamp ballast and try it. if that still won't work then scrap the TV for a new one because you would know it was the DMD board and not worth the money to repair.

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your TV not working. We are here to help. The error code 66 indicates a problem with the lamp or the ballast. The first image below shows the error codes. I recommend checking both parts with a multimeter to determine the problem. The second image is the lamp control circuit that can be checked with a meter. The third image show how to replace the lamp. I hope this helps.

I would use the connector that has the 3 RCA jacks, red, blue, green, on it. You then should be able to put those connections into the corresponding jacks on your TV for input 1. You will need to set your PC output resolution to 1080x1920 or even lower to start out with. You can increase it, but when you get to high then the picture will black out because the TV cannot process the video. As far as audio goes you will need to use an audio output jack on the computer. If the computer does not have a direct RCA audio jack then you will need to use the headphone jack and get a 3.5mm to male RCA cable.
