Amperage /conflict info

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on the installation instructions, the dryer will require a three or four wire, single phase, 120/240 volt 30 amp service.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Jane: That is correct, it will need a 15 amp circuit breaker for each leg of voltage to the dryer. Two 15 amp breakes is 30 amps. The dryer requires 220 volts which is accomplish by connecting two different legs of voltage to the dryer. It needs line one (L1) and it needs a line 2 (L2). So, the dryer will need to be on 30 amp service. Two 15 amp circuit breakers, one of each leg of voltage.

The city electrical inspector came and says the 2 X15 amp on the panel don't add (15 +15 =30amp) 4o he said the 15 amp on the panel couldn't be linked to the 30am electrical cord. (He electrician came back and said that he will fabricate a cord 120/208 15 amp 4 prongs. The inspector advised me to clarify with the maker the right amp required for this particular machine.
