Question and Answers
I am looking for help with my Desa Intl. space heater. Occasionally it just goes out-especially when it is on pilot.
Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the heater. This type of problem can be caused by a weak thermocouple or if the flame is not engulfing the thermocouple properly. This could be caused by a clogged or restricted orifice. It could also be from low gas pressure, or a lack of ventilation air. The ODS (oxygen depletion sensor) may also be clogged. Heaters not working properly can be very dangerous and I would recommend having a technician check and make this repair. I'm listing a link you can access for information about this heater. I hope it will help you. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services.
