Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. I looked up your model. It did have an option for adding a chain brake. I looked up the parts for the brake and found that the activation lever is no longer available. Without the lever the brake will not work. I am sorry this is not possible.

Q:

Have a Homelite chainsaw model #UT10901A. Need a chain part # H1N7252AH that is no longer available. Is there another chain that can fit this?

A:

I understand how important it is to have the proper parts for your chainsaw. When it comes to appliances that are 10 years or older the manufacturer no longer will make certain parts for the appliance. While you are waiting for a detailed reply from an expert I recommend visiting the Sears.com website were you can browse the many types of chain saw's available, Which will help you decide if purchasing a new on would be a good idea. I have provided the link below. Hope this helps!

Your best bet on this will be to stop by a local saw shop and have them make you up a chain. It would best for you to take the whole saw to them but if that's not possible tell them you need a 3/8 pitch, 50gauge chain and tell them the length of the bar on your saw. Because there can be a bit of variance, it really will be best if you take the whole saw to them to make sure they get the length correct.

If this seems like a big deal, I assure you it's not. Saw shops buy chain stock in bulk (on spools) and will break off how much they need and assemble the chain. It's really take about 15-20 minutes to do the whole thing.
